Okay, so most of the time, I’ve been sharing stories from the NBA world with you in this newsletter.
But I want to start publishing a variety of articles on here, so I’m experimenting with a new type of article. They’ll be short how-to guides that will teach you how to do a basketball drill or play a basketball game and the benefits you will get from them.
For the first one, I am going to share one of the most popular schoolyard basketball games, Around the World.
Give it a read and let me know what you think; let me know if it’s entertaining or will be of use to you.
Let’s get to it:
Do you want to increase your hot zones?
If so, you must add this schoolyard game to your workout.
It’s called Around the World (I’m sure you’ve heard of it. You’ve probably played before, too).
It’ll help you increase your hot zones because the game forces you to make shots around the rim. Additionally, by playing it consistently, you’ll build up muscle memory and comfort from various spots on the hardwood.
Here’s a quick how-to-play guide:
Start at the first marker on the free-throw box.
Make the shot and move on to the next marker.
Make shots at every marker to win the game.
Oh, you have two tries to make a shot. If the second shot is missed, you have to go back to the first marker. But the second shot is optional.
You should play this game a couple of times a week to practice your shooting form. You can also play a quick round before games as well.
