Here’s a great basketball game for improving conditioning and shooting under pressure.
It’s called Bump and is a fast-paced game that will have you begging for oxygen by the end of it.
Here’s how to play it:
You can play it with only two players, but it’s much more fun (and much easier) if you have 3 or more.
You will need two basketballs for this game.
The first player (which can be decided by height or a shoot-off) shoots the ball.
If he makes it, he gets to go back to the end of the line. But if he misses it, he has to rebound and score before the next player makes her shot. If he doesn’t, he’s out of the game.
Also, as you fight to score, you can bump your opponent’s ball away. This can be done via you bumping it so they can’t rebound their ball or by you tossing your ball at theirs so they can’t make a shot.
The last remaining player wins.
I will admit that this is not one of my favourite games. But I do see its benefits -my cardio improves and my shooting form, when I’m fatigued, is more consistent.
So, if you want to work on these aspects of your game, play Bump more often.
