Brooklyn Nets Are The First Team To Get Swept This Post-Season
The Nets disappointed this season.
The Brooklyn Nets were up against the ropes last night and they fought and clawed to save their season (and pride) as Kevin Durant dropped 39 points (the most this series), grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished 9 assists.
But by regulation’s end, they lost the game and were swept by the Boston Celtics.
This loss marks this post-season’s first 4-0 sweep, and there are a lot of questions concerning the team’s potential activity this summer.
But the one that is on most of our minds (well, mine anyway) is will Head Coach Steve Nash return to this title next season?
In normal conditions, no, he wouldn’t.
He had three superstars to start the season, but landed on seventh in the standings after 82 games.
In addition to that, the Nets were expected to go all the way to the NBA Finals, but instead got ousted in the first round.
But Nash didn’t coach under normal conditions.
He coached during a pandemic that was affecting the whole world.
In addition to that, the Nets, as an organization, wasn’t running too smooth, either.
There were a lot of things going on (on and off the court) that took a toll on the team (if you followed the NBA this season, you know exactly what happened).
So because of that, I think he’ll get another shot. And Durant wants him to come back as well.
Via Sporting News:
"Yeah, Steve has been dealt a crazy hand the last two years," Durant said. "He had to deal with so much stuff as a first-time coach: trades, injuries, COVID, just a lot of stuff he had to deal with. I'm proud of how his focus and passion for us. We all [will] continue to keep developing over the summer and see what happens."
Do you want to see Steve Nash return as the Brooklyn Nets head coach?
Final Thoughts
How the Nets rebuild their team in the off-season will be fun to track. There are so many things that they can do.
Will they make a big trade? Will they let a big star go? Will they swap one star for another? Are they going to change up their entire game plan and re-draw their playbook?
What are they going to do?
So many questions that will be answered in a short few months, but need to be answered now because I’m too impatient!
Anyway…
