I remember watching a Sacramento Kings’ game in the early 2000s and their center, Vlade Divac, threw this no-look pass from the post-up and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
This was probably when I started becoming a fan of European centers because they didn’t play like any of the American centers. They were, in a way, unorthodox because they were playmaking and not just dominating the post with sheer athleticism.
This fascinated me and I was constantly creating players with this build in NBA Live and 2k.
I also tried making plays like this too when I played basketball with my friends at the park or during gym class (I was rarely successful, but it was fun to try regardless).
Vlade was quite awesome.
