In the 1995-96 season, the Chicago Bulls only lost 10 games. One of the teams that defeated them was the Toronto Raptors, who beat the Bulls by 1 point.
Which Raptors’ player made the basket to put Toronto up one?
Oliver Miller
Tracy Murray
Damon Stoudamire
Doug Christie
The answer is A: Oliver Miller.
With less than 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Bulls’ Michael Jordan attacked the basket with a layup to untie the game (108-108). But the Raptors’ Doug Christie met him at the rim and swatted the ball into Miller’s hands.
Jordan intentionally committed a loose-ball foul, sending Miller to the foul line.
The victory was dependent on Miller making these clutch foul shots but he had only made 1-of-2 free throws thus far this game.
He stepped up to the free-throw line and once again, made 1-of-2 and put the first-year expansion team up 1 point (109-108).
However, there was still time left in the game.
