Giannis Antetokounmpo To the Chicago Bulls?
Giannis said that he isn’t against the idea of playing for the Chicago Bulls one day.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the biggest Milwaukee Bucks player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
And similar to the legendary basketball player, Giannis may one day up and bounce to another team.
(If you don’t recall, Kareem joined the Los Angeles Lakers after six years with the Bucks.)
Why am I saying this?
Because during an appearance on The Sports Zone on Fox 32 Chicago, the two-time MVP said that he could see himself in a Chicago Bulls uniform later on in his career.
Via SLAM:
“I think anybody who is asked that question and would say no, he’s a liar. It’s a team that won multiple championships; it’s the team with one of the greatest, if not the greatest, players to ever play this game played for. It’s a no-brainer; everybody would love to play for Chicago. Down the line, you never know. Maybe I play for Chicago, but right now, I am committed to Milwaukee.”
Though some fans are in disbelief and distraught over the news, Matt Barnes said on NBA Today that Giannis’ admission isn’t really that big of a deal.
“I think this is a little deal. Obviously, it’s to hold the organization accountable. But we’re also in a new NBA now, so when things like this are said, people like us are going to run it and run crazy with it.
“I don’t see him leaving, but Milwaukee can’t get too comfortable. Just because they think they can start slacking because he’s there now… you have to continue to build around this guy his entire career just like what Golden State is doing over there with Steph [Curry].”
I personally believe that Giannis isn’t going to leave Milwaukee.
And he only said that he would consider playing for the Bulls because he was in Chicago on a Chicago sports show, so when asked if he would play for them, he had to say yes because he’s a really nice guy.
But he’s done so much for the Bucks and the organization has done so much for him. The fans in Milwaukee also adore him, so I don’t see any reason why he would leave.
So, this news, like what Barnes says, isn’t really anything and people (the media, to be precise) are just making it more than what it is. They’re exaggerating it.
But… but just for fun, do you like the idea of Giannis joining the Bulls after his current contract is over? And if so, how many rings is he getting?
