It was -oddly- a brown Christmas Day where I’m from and snow was nowhere to be found.
So it was a good thing Luka Doncic played because he and the Dallas Mavericks snow-stormed all over the Phoenix Suns during their Christmas Day match.
What does that even mean? I don’t know. But what I do know is that Luka is one hell of a basketball player.
Here’s the evidence:
On Christmas Day, he and the Dallas Mavericks gifted the Phoenix Suns their third consecutive loss.
While preparing the final product of this present (which may have led to Kevin Durant allegedly complaining about the organization), Luka also gifted himself a pretty awesome gift.
In 43 minutes of work time, Doncic scored a season-high 50 points on 60 percent shooting. He also dished out 15 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds, intercepted the ball 4 times and denied 3 shots.
But that’s not all this sixth-year player put a bow on -he also recorded his 10,000th point with a long-ass three-pointer in his 358th career game, tying NBA legend Bob McAdoo for the fewest games needed to reach this milestone.
Additionally, Luka became the sixth player younger than 25 to unlock this achievement. He joins the ranks of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady.
“He’s one of the best in the world,” Mavs’ coach Jason Kidd said. “As I’ve always said, we can’t take him for granted. When he’s feeling it, you’re just trying to get him the ball as much as possible.”
The Mavericks defeated the Suns 128-114.
P.S. I lied about my area not having snow on Christmas Day. There were patches here and there. Some of the snow patches were even yellow!
