Here’s what is required to become a Super Saiyan:
First, you need to have Saiyan DNA in you, which Jimmy Butler clearly has because he went super.
Second, you need to have accumulated enough S-cells from battles, which he did in the regular season and in the previous games of the series.
Third, you need to experience some strong feelings, such as sadness, anger, or a strong urgency to achieve something.
Butler experienced the latter in Game 4.

The Miami Heat were playing poorly and he had to step up in a major way to lead them to victory because if they lost, the Milwaukee Bucks would even out the series.
The transformation happened in the first quarter when none of his teammates were able to make shots.
He must have felt both strong feelings of anger and urgency because he went 9 for 10 and had 22 points in 12 minutes.
He stayed in this form the entire game and by the end of the fourth, Jimmy Buckets had 56 points and, more importantly, prevented the Bucks, who had strong warriors in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez, from winning.
Game 5
But now that the Bucks were in a do-or-die situation with Game 5 being an elimination match, they were going to come at the Heat hard.
They did, but Butler expected this type of attack from them and was prepared.
The Greek Freak and Khash Money (Khris Middleton) fought with a full arsenal of attacks on their battlefield. They posterized the Heat and sank long bombs over Miami’s defenders.
The Bucks led most of the game and it looked like they were going to defeat elimination.
But with a few seconds left in the fourth quarter and only two points down, Butler, who didn’t yet need to transform into a Super Saiyan because his team was contributing and the game was close throughout, activated his super form for the last play.
He wanted the pressure to be on him because he was the leader of the team. And the only Super Saiyan.
A play was drawn up for him and the team stepped onto the hardwood to set it up.
Butler started off underneath the basket and acted like he was going to cut to the corner for a three. But instead, he bamboozled the defence and circled back to the basket to catch a lob from Gabe Vincent.
He caught the pass and laid it in, forcing the game to go to overtime. All of this happened within a span of seconds and didn’t take the length of 3 episodes.
In overtime, Butler started to lose some energy and had to rely on his teammates for the victory.
The Heat grinded it out and eliminated the Bucks. The final score was 128-126.
Butler had 42 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.
Final Thoughts
In the next round, the Heat are going up against the New York Knicks.
Is Butler’s Super Saiyan form enough to get them the victory?
