Norman Powell Says LeBron’s IQ is on a ‘Totally Different Level’
Norman Powell explains how LeBron’s IQ stopped the Raptors from advancing in the playoffs.
We all know how intelligent LeBron James is.
And how could you not? Everybody is constantly talking about it and praising it.
But how can we not talk about it? His basketball IQ is astounding. There aren’t too many -past and present- NBA players that possess the database of strategy and information that he has.
And this is why I’m going to add to the library of stories about The King’s basketball intelligence.
On an episode of Podcast P, Norman Powell explained why the mid-2010 Toronto Raptors couldn’t get past LeBron James.
He told his Los Angeles Clippers teammate Paul George that LeBron did his homework too well and Toronto couldn’t out-strategize him.
“No matter what we did, [LeBron] had a counter to it… like you hear some of the stories from DeMar [DeRozan], Kyle [Lowry] and Fred [VanVleet], where we coming down the court, and he yelling the plays out, like from start to finish. Like, he’s calling the plays out, like, ‘the ball is going to end up in JV’s hand on the backside’ or this, that or the other.
“This dude’s mind is at a totally different level because he knows our stuff, he knows their stuff, and he telling the audibles for their team to adjust to our defensive scheme.”
So, there you have it: another story about how LeBron’s IQ propelled him to victory.
And even though this may be the fifty-third time you heard a story like this in 2023, it’s still amazing to hear.
