Pascal Siakam has not had an excellent start to the season.
Like the Toronto Raptors, he has been inconsistent.
Some nights he’ll put up big numbers and then he’ll have a dud the following game.
But if Wednesday night’s performance was an indicator of things to come, I think he’s about to break out.
In a wild game against the Indiana Pacers, Siakam scored 36 points on 54 percent shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds, recording his 100th double-double.
With this, he becomes the fifth player in Raptors’ history to record 100 career double-doubles.
The other players to have this accolade are Chris Bosh, Jonas Valanciunas, Kyle Lowry and Antonio Davis.
However, this performance could just be a one-off; he could go back to his inconsistent ways and play poorly again.
But the reason I believe he’s going to start playing better is because I need him to.
My fantasy basketball team is dying with his up-and-down play. I need him to get back to his All-Star ways!
But jokes aside, the real reason is that his performances look like they’re stabilizing. In his last 4 games, he scored 16 or more points and made at least 50 percent of his shots.
I know this is a small sample size, but he hasn’t played well for this duration of time this season yet. So, that has to be a sign of something.
Additionally, I just need something to believe in. Fantasy this season has been discouraging.
Anywhoo…
