Michael Finley won his first championship title in 2007 with a team that was once considered his foe.
Although Michael Finley was drafted in the mid-90s, he didn’t make his first playoff appearance until 2001.
But as soon as he got his first taste of the postseason, he couldn’t stop.
He was on the Dallas Mavericks at this time and they were good.
They had the dynamic duo of Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash leading the charge under Don Nelson’s fast-paced offense.
They won a lot of games and were perennial playoff contenders. Between 2000 and 2005, the least amount of games the Mavs won was 52.
However, despite always being near the top of the standings, they played in a tough conference and had troubles in the postseason.
