Kobe Bryant was one of those rare players that played his entire career on one team.
Obviously, there were rumours surrounding his potential departure from the Los Angeles Lakers (the NBA is an entertainment business after all), but all of those were just that -rumours.
Kobe started his career as a young 18-year-old high grad and ended his career as a 37-year-old Los Angeles legend.
As a Laker, he won multiple championship titles, made multiple All-Star appearances and All-NBA teams, and created highlights that are etched into the minds of all basketball fans.
He was adored by the team’s fans and he never let them down on the hardwood.
Steph Curry wants his career to follow a similar path.
Making an appearance on the Oakland Athletics broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area, Curry said that he doesn’t want to “ever” leave Golden State.
Via The Score:
"Honestly, I don't want to leave ever. I want this to be my one and only home," Curry said during Wednesday's Oakland Athletics broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area. "And even thinking about what happens when basketball is done ... we'll still have roots here. We'll still have a presence here. We'll still call this place home."
Curry and his band of bandits have done great things for the club and the city.
He has led the Warriors to four championship titles, he has won 2 MVP titles in a Warriors jersey, and he has been voted into multiple All-Star games and All-NBA teams.
And like Kobe, he has also created highlights that are etched into the minds of all basketball fans.
The only difference between the two is that Curry is still playing and is relatively young. He still has a lot of basketball left in him and could potentially, one day, leave the team.
But if the decision is up to him, Curry would rather stay on the team that he spent his rookie season with until his final shot.
