Alright, so it’s Canada Day.
And since it is, I want to take this opportunity to showcase the best that the North has to offer.
So, here are the 5 best Canadian players in the league right now (and by “best,” I mean my favourite).
Aha, Got ‘Em!
5) R.J. Barrett
Why I like him: Barrett is a well-rounded gritty scorer with a bit of flair in his game.
4) Lu Dort
Why I like him: Dort is a tough, gritty defender -much like Tony Allen or Patrick Beverley- who has the offensive skills to easily average 15+ points per game.
3) Jamal Murray
Why I like him: Acrobatic and explosive. That’s all I have to say.
Oh, and Murray can get buckets in bunches, too.
2) Andrew Wiggins
Why I like him: Wiggins was by far the best Canadian player this season. He’s a skilled two-way player who can guard almost anyone and is an explosive dunker.
1) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Why I like him: I’m just going to put this out there first -Shai is going to be the future of Canadian basketball.
As for why he’s my favourite: Shai’s got some nice footwork. And he’s got some nifty skills. And he just looks cool.
Final Thoughts
Well, that’s all folks!
Hope you have a great Canada Day if you’re Canadian and a great weekend if you’re not.
