Ya know that GQ series called “X Goes Undercover” on YouTube where celebrities and pro athletes answer questions they find on sites like Quora or Reddit?
This article is like that.
I’ve watched a few of those and just liked the idea of it. It also looks fun to answer random basketball questions from those sites.
So, here are some interesting questions I found on Quora that I’m going to investigate:
Who is the best NBA guard of this decade?
If we’re talking about this decade (the 2020s), then it’s a toss-up between Ja Morant and Luka Doncic.
Both are spectacular players who -if they continue to evolve- will dominate throughout this decade (and most likely beyond).
But if I had to pick one, I would go with Luka just because I think his game will age better than Ja’s.
However, if we’re talking about the past 10 years, then I would say either Chris Paul or Steph Curry.
These two are first-ballot Hall of Famers and the things they have accomplished in the past 10 seasons have been phenomenal.
But if I had to pick one, like I would get kicked in my no-nos if I didn’t, then I would go with Curry strictly because of his accolades.
But got damn is CP3 good! His basketball IQ is second to none.
And if Paul wins one championship and is the Final’s MVP of that series, I’m going to change my mind and give him the title of best point guard of the decade.
Who do you think will be the best NBA point guard 10 years from now?
What will the NBA look like 10 years from now in your eyes?
In 10 years, I think the NBA will be similar to now with minor changes. I mean, not much has changed about the league in the past 30 years.
The biggest change that will happen, I believe, is that there will be more teams as the league expands and the league will probably stretch to more continents, like Mexico.
There will also be more in-season tournaments, like the Play-In, that teams will compete in for cash prizes or donations to charities.
Additionally, I think how the game of basketball is played will be different.
Shooters will keep getting better and there will be a 4-point line in the future. But at the same time, I think players are going to play more in the mid-range.
All I can say with certainty is that It will be interesting to see the evolution of basketball.
What's your reaction to Tyler Herro winning the NBA's 6th Man of the Year award?
I think it’s great.
Tyler Herro played amazing this season and took the role seriously. He put up solid starter numbers (20.7 points, 5 rebounds, & 4 assists) and would probably be a starter on many teams.
But more importantly, he was one of the main players to help the Miami Heat get the top standing in the Eastern Conference.
And, if I’m not mistaken, Herro is one of five Sixth Man of the Year award recipients to average more than 20 points per game.
So, that’s pretty cool.
Conclusion
How do you think the game of basketball will be played in 10 years?
