Ryan Anderson could’ve been one of the greatest White stretch fours in NBA history.
Anderson, a 6-9 forward, was drafted by the New Jersey Nets in 2008 with the 21st overall pick and contributed some good play for the team right out of the gate.
He started nearly half of the games he played (30 out of 66 games) and averaged 7.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and made a three-pointer a game.
His ability to hit this 3-pointer is important and served him well later in his career as the game of basketball was in the beginning stages of its evolution to becoming a perimeter shooting game.
Time With The Orlando Magic
Over the next couple of seasons, Anderson continued to develop his game with a new team, the Orlando Magic.
And in his fourth NBA season, he figured out his role and hit his stride.
