Mathurin Almost Wins Championship Title
Bennedict Mathurin showed out in his first championship game.
Bennedict Mathurin played in his first (IST) championship game on Saturday.
And under the pressure of the bright lights, he showed what he’s made of, despite the outcome not favouring him and his team, the Indiana Pacers.
Mathurin, the first option off of the bench, played 30 minutes and tied the team’s leading scorer (Tyrese Haliburton) with 20 points on 45.5 percent shooting.
He also worked on the defensive end as he recorded a steal and a block.
Haliburton led the pack with 20 points on 57 percent shooting and 11 assists.
However, their good performances weren’t enough to take down Anthony Davis, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, who won the inaugural In-Season Tournament Championship game 123-109.
