It’s not a stretch to say that the Golden State Warriors have been struggling.
From the mid-2010s to the early 2020s, Golden State was the most dominant franchise in the NBA, winning 4 out of the last 8 championship titles. They’re also the last team to back-to-back rings.
But after their 2022 championship, the Warriors have taken a dip.
In 2023, they lost in the semifinals to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Then in 2024, they didn’t win enough games to make playoff contention.
They’re currently in limbo, where their legendary big 3 is getting old and their youth aren’t developing fast enough.
However, despite being in this odd place, Draymond Green, on The Draymond Green Show, said he believes the Warriors can still pull out one more championship. But they have to do it ASAP.
Via The Score:
"I just think there are some decisions that have to be made for us, and I trust and know that our front office and our coaching staff will make the right decisions. But I think we still got a small window to make something happen," Green explained. "I know this organization will honor Steph (Curry) and myself and Klay (Thompson). I know they'll honor us in that way of giving us every chance they can to help us win."
The organization’s brass can definitely make some changes and turn this team back into the dominant franchise that they were.
Though to do so, they’ll most likely have to trade away one of their key players, which is okay since rumours are saying that Klay Thompson is going to leave in free agency.
If he does leave, who should they sign? Or, if he agrees to a sign-and-trade, which team should they deal with or which player should they trade for?
I think they should try to acquire the Orlando Magic’s Wendell Carter Jr. in a sign-and-trade deal.
He has the size they lack and skills that suit their team. He can protect the rim and fight for rebounds while stretching the floor for them.
But what do you think?
